HOLME: RUN, JUMP AND THROW TO TAKE CSSCO ATHLETICS GOLD

Congratulations to Holme Primary School who won the Carnforth SSCO Programme Year 1/2 Sportshall athletics competition this week.

Well done to all the participants involved, many representing their school for the first time. Everyone tried their best and had a lot of fun, they were a credit to their school. The participants generated points for every event they performed in, which included field events such as – long jump, target throw, speed bounce and javelin. Track events included sprint relays, long distance run, egg & spoon, obstacle and sack race.

Nether Kellet won Silver and Halton Bronze medals for second and third respectively, with some brilliant performances, with only 16 points between the top 3 schools, great effort. Special mention for the Christ Church pupil for winning the CSSCO STAR Award for displaying outstanding leadership skills during the event. Thanks very much to Carnforth High for hosting the event and providing some amazing sport leaders who delivered the event.
