About Us

The LHSSN is a network linking together schools of all ages & abilities across the area with community groups, local providers & national bodies to provide as many high quality experiences as possible for children & staff alike. Schools came together to continue much of the work of the old School Sports Partnerships, the Youth Sport Trust & Sports Development. They saw the value in working collaboratively, as one group, for the good of each-other & the area as a whole.

Membership Packages

Suiting a school's priorities

LHSSN are a trusted local deliverer & we provide various opportunities beyond or core membership offers. Our packages, however, combine all the best bits available in a neat package.

Though not an exhaustive list, these include the following examples:

Teacher training & CPD- both in schools & at central venues. Involving a mix of practical examples & administrative training. Delivered by respected bodies like The Youth Sport Trust, or Lancashire County Council’s PE services, by us & our partners, or as simply as continuing the ‘partnership ethos’ by sharing local good practice. Practical & theory based support.
Mass events such as our SSN Olympics which sees 2750 primary pupils take part in 14 different sports all delivered by ourselves & our local providers.
Our annual PE Teacher’s conference with national & local updates, guest speakers, & formal & informal training.
Health interventions & active opportunities.
Leadership training for pupils of all ages. Often supporting local delivery.
Administrative support.
Reinvesting in local activities & providing a structure that many other local groups support, such as Morecambe FC, Salt Ayre, OAA, Leadership, & more.
Providing expertise & support across sport, activity, PE, mental & physical health & wellbeing.
Understanding the importance of community, charity & CICs like ours, coming together working with St John’s Hospice & Lancaster Youth Challenge.
& many, many other opportunities including; Outdoor education, coaching, competitions, & support offered by us & local deliverers.
